The Health Benefits From A Daily Glass of Red Wine
Did you know that a daily glass of red wine can give you a number of health benefits?
It’s true! By enjoying a single glass of wine a day for women (or 2 glasses a day for men), we can capture a multitude of health benefits that you would not otherwise get.

What health benefits are we talking about?
For starters, scientists now think that a daily glass of red wine can help with immune system function. Studies have shown that a glass of red wine can have antibacterial properties with respect to streptococcus. Secondly, red wine has been shown to aid in cardiovascular health (meaning, your heart). This is because red wine contains resveratrol, a chemical located in the skin of red grapes. White wine does not contain the same levels of that chemical, and therefore is not as healthy for you as red wine. Thirdly, because it is a central nervous system depressant, small amounts of red wine can help decrease your stress. Such stress reduction can be helpful in achieving a better night’s sleep. However, be careful – too much wine before bed can have an adverse effect on your body’s natural circadian rhythm, and can actually mess up your night of sleep.

Resveratrol also helps your cardiovascular health by increasing your body’s level of good cholesterol, HDL. Some doctors also believe that red and white wine could be responsible in halting the body’s production of cancel cells in patients with breast cancer.

Why is stress so important?
Having a low-stress lifestyle is extremely important for all aspects of general health. Reducing your stress can help you sleep at night, give you more energy during the day, help your general cognition, reduce your irritability and anger, and will increase your memory and intuition functions.

Moderation is very important!
This is the key to the message. If you want to get the maximum health benefits from red wine, it must be enjoyed in moderation. As above, that means one five ounce glass a day for women, and two for men. Having more drinks than that can lead to excessive drinking which can lead to alcoholism. Alcoholism is responsible for a whole array of health problems and should be avoided at all costs.

If you enjoy red wine in moderation this winter, you will be able to capture the maximum health benefits.
